While several imposter Two Faces subsequently appeared, the real Two-Face was revived in 'Batman' #81 in 1954, when his plastic surgery was undone by a crook's bomb blast, leading him to permanently resume a life of crime, which he's stuck with to this day (though he mostly vanished, like Catwoman did, during the rest of the 50s and the 60s, finally being revived by Neal Adams in 1971 and staying around as a regular Bat-foe ever since. In the Golden Age (the appearance used for the basis of Two-Face in tonight's episode), Two-Face made several appearances, before having his face healed through corrective plastic surgery. Post-Crisis, the character's been used even more heavily, with a backstory about having once been Bruce Wayne's friend retconned in.
